Club strengthens ties to fans, community with new group forum The Lane United Membership Group made its official launch on April 9th, 2020 on Facebook. Lane United FC Members will receive special benefits including insider access to club news, discounts with club partners, exclusive members-only club merchandise, developments within the local soccer community, and many more future activities. The membership group will help serve as an intermediary between fans and management. LUFC Managing Director Dave Galas said that the club is “open to suggestions for distancing activities in order to engage, excite, and otherwise keep our fans interacting in these tough times of isolation.” To join the group, simply visit the new page and click the “request” button. Anyone can become a member just by asking to join — there is no payment or season ticket requirement, just an appreciation for the club and its continued growth. Longtime Red Aces member and LUFC supporter John Whitesnake — whose love and support for Lane United drew him to the group — hopes to gain “a better connection to [his] soccer community [in order to] stay in touch with like-minded, soccer-loving hooligans” through his membership. A private group setting allows LUFC to interact with serious fans on a more personal level. A closed forum also allows the club to gain feedback that fans might not want to share in public. The group has grown to include over 200 members in just over a week of existence but hopes to include as many supporters as possible. “If [someone looking to join] wanted to belong to a club of amazing human beings with a passion for the game of soccer, then this is the home they have been searching for,” said Whitesnake. “LUFC and the Red Aces are all-inclusive social clubs [that include] some of the most humble and kindest people you could have the pleasure to be acquainted with.”
“Ideally these would be in-person events, so hopefully we’ll be able to make a few of those happen this spring or summer,” added General Manager Perry Hammond. “In the meantime, we’re thrilled to be able to provide a virtual platform that allows us to connect with our fans, and for them to connect with each other, over soccer.”
The four remaining Cocktails & Classics events will be live-streamed every Thursday at 7pm right on the Facebook group page. Supporters are encouraged to subscribe to the club newsletter as well. The subscription form can be found by visiting our contact page and clicking on the “Sign Up for our Newsletter” button near the bottom. - Charlie Folkestad Comments are closed.
