Lane United FC emerged victorious with a 3-1 win over visiting Bellevue Athletic FC in Saturday’s pre-season opener.

As the new USL League Two and USL W League seasons approach, there is much anticipation and excitement from the local soccer community surrounding the upcoming campaign for Lane United Football Club.

The Reds will kick off their 2023 campaign with a preseason match against Bellevue Athletic FC this Saturday, May 13th, at Civic Park at 4 pm. 

Coming off one of their best seasons in recent memory that saw a third-place finish and meaningful, down-to-the-wire games down the stretch, the Lane United FC Reds are back for 2023 and hungry to build off last summer.

Both the USL W League and USL League Two have released their official schedules for the 2023 season. The Lane United FC Women’s Team, in its first year of existence, will play 10 league matches, while the Men’s Team, entering its ninth season of PDL/USL2 play, will play 12 matches.

For the fourth year in a row, Lane United FC will be represented in the Lower League eCup. Daniel Lopez will man the controls for the club for the second time.

With the club entering its 10th year of existence, both the men’s team – which will play its ninth full league season, and women’s team – in its inaugural season, are looking for local talent to join their squads!

Earlier today, the USL W League announced the divisional alignments for the upcoming 2023 season. Lane United FC will make its USL W debut in the Northwest Division, which forms part of the Western Conference alongside the eight teams in the NorCal Division.

Former Lane United FC player, assistant coach, and head coach Conner Cappelletti has joined the Richmond Kickers’ technical staff as an assistant coach.
